Since 7th grade, when he completed a year-long Python course in a couple weeks, Kai has loved programming. He would often skip school in favor of working at a San Francisco startup, driven by a fascination with technology's ability to transform such fields as aerospace and clean energy. He's gone on to work at a selection of early-stage startups and manage the top university space program in the country. Today, Kai studies computer science at Stanford, focusing on scalability.
Although his central passion does involve staring at a flickering screen for hours at a time, Kai also loves the outdoors. He loves stories and the adventures that produce those stories, whether that involves skiing through snowy woods, climbing abandoned buildings, or trying to find his way around a foreign city by sense of smell.
